A brief explanation of the query language is available, along with examples.

Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

acupuncture translation

finds documents containing 'acupuncture' or 'translation'

acupuncture or translation

same as above

acupuncture and translation

finds documents containing both 'acupuncture' and 'translation'

acupuncture not translation

finds documents containing 'acupuncture' but not 'translation'

(acupuncture not translation) and THOMAS

finds documents containing 'THOMAS', plus 'acupuncture' but not 'translation'

web*

finds documents containing words starting with 'web'
